Library for Fluid Properties

The use of fluid properties is essential in technical calculations, but searching for them and integrating them into programs is often annoying and time-consuming.

For this reason, I have developed a tool that contains the most common fluid properties for everyday engineering and can be used quickly, easily and in a variety of ways.

It was also important to me that the units used, the data source and information about application limits, accuracy restrictions, etc. were documented as completely as possible.

The tool offers the following features:

  • the fluid properties can be calculated directly on the screen
  • the calculations can be copied to a spreadsheet, either as a block or as a column, and integrated into existing calculations
  • the calculations can be used as macros. The corresponding code is ready to copy and just needs to be inserted into the project.
  • many equations can be used universally as a text string in other programs

The following fluids are included:

  • dry and humid air and flue gases, 0-2000°C
  • Individual gases 0-1500 or 2000°C
    CO2, H2O, N2, O2, SO2, Ar, Ne, Ar, He, CO, H2, CH4, C2H6, C3H8, NH3, NO, H2S
  • Gas mixtures from the above-mentioned individual gases
  • over 100 heat transfer media (thermal oils, silicone oils, etc.)
  • Water and steam according to IAPWS-IF 97, 0-2000°C, 0-500 and 1000 bar respectively
